my story

I've always had a passion for capturing moments on film. With 10 years of professional experience, I have the skill and trained eye to make your project come to life whether its Photography or a Video.

Video Background

I attended The Toronto Film School (IAOD) taking Film & TV Production. Shortly after I was accepted into the Toronto Camera Union IATSE 667 as a trainee. Working on several shows, from Murdoch Mysteries & Little Mosque on the Prairie, to finishing on the Feature Film "The Hulk". All these experiences helped me gain the creative knowledge to shoot my own projects.

I directed a short film titled "Synapse" which was accepted into the 2007 LA Shorts Fest Film Festival. I've directed numerous music videos the most recent for Rich Kidd titled "I'd Be Lying" which made it to regular rotation on MTV Jams in the US. Along with Directing I'm also a Cinematographer & Editor.

Photography Background

I have never taken a photography course, I'm 100% self trained but my video experience completely helped me understand the principles of still photography. It started off as a hobby from when I was like 12 or 13 years old. Then I bought my first DSLR the Nikon D300s. From there I started doing Modelling Photo shoots, then I linked up with a Radio Station/Hip Hop Blog called The Come Up Show and got the name #ShotByDrew shooting Hip-Hop Concerts in Toronto. This was amazing as I got to shoot a lot of my favourite artists even meeting some of them; Snoop Dogg, The Game, Rick Ross, Wale, Kid Cudi, Drake, Big Sean, Bun B, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar just to name a few. My photos are all over the internet now with features and photo galleries, I've also been published in a book, "Far From Over The Music and Life of Drake" by Dalton Higgins. I take a lot of pride in my work and feel I have a very unique eye and different approach to shooting stills, I also like to keep diverse and shoot street, landscape, weddings, corporate, products, lifestyle, live events.
